Strikers Coaches and Players Head to Kazakhstan to Promote Cultural Understanding

The Richmond Strikers will be partnering with the Center for Sport Leadership at VCU and the Football Federation of Kazakhstan to work with a program called ENVEST (Empowering New Voices through Education and Sport Training).

Strikers will be sending several coaches and youth players, led by Strikers coaches Will Bates and Pat McStay, to Kazakhstan August 7th-13th. Strikers players Mitchell Brown, Nicholas Cavallo, Ethan Johnson, Nicole Mills Michael Morrissey, Connor Peed, Anne Christian Robertson and Nick Vantre as well as Steve Johnson will be traveling to Astana, Kazakhstan on a volunteer basis with ENVEST.

The coaches and players in the program will be involved in programming that is intended to promote cultural understanding. This will take place at the same time as the World Expo taking place in Astana, Kazakhstan. Coaches and players from several surrounding countries, such as Turkmenistan, Tajikistan and Kyrgyzstan will all be in attendance.

In early 2018, a group from Kazakhstan will come to visit the United States to continue in learning with ENVEST.
